Tree RemovalThe technical term for cutting a tree down to the stump is called coppicing; this is what is usually meant by the term tree removal. Tree removal is not something to be taken lightly. Because trees are important for so many different reasons, they clean the air, the provide shade and beauty, the stabilize the soil and prevent erosion, the support micro ecosystems providing habitat and food for birds and insects. That said, there can be valid reasons to remove a tree even health ones sometimes.
The most common reason we remove tree is because they are diseased, dead and or damaged. Trees compromised in this way are potentially a hazard to people and property and after weighing risks and benefits sometimes it's the right call to go ahead and remove them. In the case of disease, a good tree service company can diagnose the problem and give you a good recommendation about how to proceed. There are times when the tree can be saved. Dead trees are not always an immediate danger to people or property but they could be. Some dead trees are structurally unsound but that's not always the case. Depending on where the tree is in relation to other property it might not have to be removed immediately. Damage is commonly the most urgent reason for tree removal. Damaged tree are often structurally unsound and in danger of coming down at any moment. Because these situations can be emergent, it's important to get in touch with a pro as soon as possible. Now it gets trickier with healthy trees. Healthy trees can need to come down for a number of reasons as well. The most common reasons we've seen are construction, beauty, neighbor relations, yard work, and ecosystem balance. No matter what the reason you may think there is to remove a healthy tree, it's best to be fully informed from a tree care pro. They will inform you if it's necessary to cut down the entire tree or if removal of limbs would be the better way to go. They can also advise you what the expected affect the removal of one tree will have on any others. They will be a neutral consultant on all of your options (though we admit, for our two cents we think trees should only be removed when nothing else would work; we won't try to talk you into it though!). Take aesthetic reasons for removing a tree. We get it. Sometimes a tree just does not look good on your property. It does not fit in with what you want for the space it's taking up. Maybe its too big and shady, maybe it's too small, thin and scrawny. Maybe you'd rather have a patio in that space rather that a tree standing there taking it up. Maybe it's too close to a structure or where you park cars. Maybe it's too close to other trees you'd rather keep alive, crowding out their roots and sapping valuable nutrients. No matter what you're reason at the end of the day we are here to serve our customers, and do it safely, efficiently and affordably. |
